What Are Onsite Shared Supports (OSS)?

Onsite Shared Supports (OSS) are a shared staffing support model delivered within SDA housing environments. This approach allows support workers to assist multiple participants living within the same SDA property or development while ensuring support remains responsive and accessible throughout the day and overnight.

  • This model is commonly used within:
  • Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) homes
  • Supported Independent Living (SIL) environments
  • Shared disability accommodation settings
  • High-support SDA developments
  • NDIS supported accommodation arrangements

Our onsite support services are tailored to the unique needs of each participant and can work alongside SIL funding, Core Supports, and other NDIS support arrangements.

How Our OSS Model Works

Our onsite shared support services are designed to create safe, efficient, and collaborative support environments within SDA homes.

Participants receive access to experienced support workers who are available onsite to assist with day-to-day support needs, routines, community participation, and overnight assistance where required.

Depending on participant goals and funding arrangements, our OSS model may include:

Shared Daily Support

Support workers provide assistance across multiple residents within the SDA environment, helping participants maintain routines, independence, and daily living activities.

Responsive Onsite Assistance

Having staff onsite allows participants to access support quickly when needed, improving safety, reassurance, and participant wellbeing.

Flexible Support Arrangements

Our onsite support services can work alongside Supported Independent Living (SIL), Core Supports, and other NDIS-funded services to create a tailored support model.

Overnight Support Options

We can also provide onsite overnight assistance and sleepover support for participants requiring overnight supervision, reassurance, or emergency response.

Benefits of Onsite Shared Supports

Our onsite shared support model offers several benefits for participants living within SDA homes and supported accommodation environments.

Greater Independence

Participants can maintain independence within their own disability accommodation while still having reliable support available when required.

Consistent Support Teams

We prioritise low agency usage and stable staffing arrangements to help participants build trust and familiarity with their support workers.

Efficient & Scalable Support

Shared staffing arrangements create a more efficient support model while maintaining responsive and high-quality care within the SDA environment.

Improved Safety & Reassurance

With support workers available onsite, participants and families can feel confident knowing assistance is accessible throughout the day and overnight.

Our teams work closely with participants, families, support coordinators, allied health professionals, and SDA housing providers to deliver integrated support solutions.
