Whether participants require assistance with daily living, overnight support, community access, or complex care needs, our experienced support teams provide flexible support arrangements that align with individual goals and NDIS funding requirements.

What Are Onsite Core Supports?
Onsite Core Supports are flexible support services delivered within SDA homes to help participants manage everyday tasks and maintain their independence. These supports are tailored to each participant’s needs and may include both individual and shared support arrangements depending on the living environment and level of care required.
Our support teams assist participants with:
- Personal care and hygiene
- Meal preparation and nutrition
- Household tasks and cleaning
- Medication assistance
- Daily routines and structure
- Community participation and transport
- Skill development and independence-building
- Behaviour and psychosocial support
- Overnight and emergency assistance
By delivering supports onsite within the SDA environment, participants can access responsive and consistent care while remaining comfortable in their own home.

Supported Independent Living (SIL)
Supported Independent Living (SIL) is designed to help participants live as independently as possible while receiving ongoing support with daily activities and household living.
At Steadway, our SIL services focus on creating supportive, participant-led environments where individuals are encouraged to build confidence, develop life skills, and maintain choice and control over their everyday lives.
Our SIL support may include:
Daily Living Assistance
Support with personal care, meal preparation, household management, and routines that help participants maintain a safe and comfortable home environment.
Skill Development
Helping participants improve independence through budgeting, cooking, communication, social engagement, travel training, and community participation.
Community Access
Encouraging participants to stay connected to their local community, attend appointments, participate in social activities, and pursue personal interests and goals.
Consistent Support Teams
We prioritise stable staffing arrangements to help build trust, familiarity, and positive long-term relationships between participants and support workers.

Our Onsite Support Model
Our onsite support model combines responsiveness, consistency, and flexibility to create high-quality living environments for participants with complex support needs.
We work closely with SDA providers, participants, families, support coordinators, and allied health professionals to ensure each support arrangement is tailored to the participant’s functional needs, preferences, and long-term goals.
Depending on the SDA environment and participant requirements, our onsite support model may include:
Shared Support Arrangements
Support workers available onsite to assist multiple participants within the home or SDA development, creating efficient and responsive support coverage.
Individualised Supports
One-to-one support arrangements for participants requiring more intensive or specialised assistance throughout the day or overnight.
Overnight Assistance
Sleepover and active overnight support services to provide reassurance, safety, and timely assistance when needed.
Transition Support
Helping participants transition into SDA housing from hospital settings, aged care, family homes, or other accommodation arrangements.
SDA Homes Designed for Independence
We believe the right environment plays an important role in participant wellbeing, independence, and quality of life. That’s why we partner with SDA housing providers to support participants within modern, purpose-built SDA homes that are safe, accessible, and comfortable.
Our SDA environments may include:
- High Physical Support SDA
- Fully Accessible SDA
- Improved Liveability SDA
These homes are designed with accessibility and participant comfort in mind, offering features such as wide doorways, accessible bathrooms, assistive technology integration, ceiling hoists, open-plan living spaces, and modern safety features where required.

Posted on Kristy Allen2026-04-20 Leanne has been so amazing with my daughter. She's helped build her self-esteem and confidence, helped to get out and about more in the community and to feel less anxious when doing so. We love her and are so grateful!Posted on Steve Johansson2026-04-14 Steadway are professional, proactive and where circumstances require it promptly reactive. Highly impressed with Steadway and would recommend them to anyone.Posted on lynne morrish2026-02-23 I am incredibly impressed with Stedway’s service. Their focus on client choice and participation really stands out. Being provided with a short list of matched support workers — including their experience and a photo — was excellent. It allowed my brother to feel involved and confident in choosing the right support person, rather than having someone simply assigned. A genuinely person-centred and respectful service that I would highly recommend.Posted on Brian Huntington2026-01-05 A wonderful and caring community of people who go above and beyond with all their support and understanding. So quick to help and have everything organised including those extra services I need as a HD patient. Communication is on another level with regular contact and allowing me full decision making with my workers.they go above and beyond to keep me in the loop with my dates and times of visit. I enjoyed the Christmas card and the condolences card when my father passed away. The team is so knowledgeable and helpful when I was new to the system and the staff was so supportive and understanding of my changes and they were so lovely in their communication with me. The visits from Chris, Claire and Mary were so helpful in guiding me through the process and allowing my own individual needs to be met and changes with my support workers. Was struggling with the process and everyone was quick and responsive to my needs with follow up interviews and getting me in contact with other professionals. They just want to help me with my HD which is a challenge for anyone. I can see how genuine everyone is with my support needs who are making a difference for me already. Maddii of course has been an asset to me during this time. I was so impressed with everyone and looking forward to a long future with them.Posted on Asad “Lion” Harb2025-12-31 As being a client to Steadway would like to let everyone know that they go above and beyond I'm not just another number.
